Senior Plasma Control, Simulation, and Optimization Expert(J17905)

We are seeking an experienced Plasma Control Specialist to engage deeply in the full lifecycle research and development of the Plasma Control System (PCS) for large-scale fusion devices. This role covers all stages from requirements analysis, algorithm development, and software implementation to on-site commissioning, whose core objective is to optimize plasma performance and significantly enhance the flexibility and reliability of experimental device operation.

What you'll do:

● Guide control and operational tasks related to discharge campaigns.

● Participate in the design and optimization of the plasma discharge management system.

● Develop and optimize plasma control algorithms, including but not limited to MHD equilibrium control, instability suppression, and discharge waveform optimization.

● Conduct multiphysics modeling and simulation to support control strategy design and validation.

● Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams (physics, engineering, software, operations) to resolve key technical challenges.

● Analyze and resolve issues during plasma discharge processes, and optimize discharge schemes to improve experimental efficiency.

Who we’re looking for:

● Education & Background

○ PhD or Master’s degree in Plasma Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Control Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computational Physics, or related fields.

○ Experience with plasma control in fusion devices (e.g., tokamaks, stellarators) is highly preferred.

● Technical Skills

○ Strong knowledge of plasma control theory, including MHD equilibrium, stability analysis, and feedback control.

○ Experience in multiphysics modeling and simulation; familiarity with tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, EFIT, ASTRA, TRANSP, etc.
