The future of fusion and artificial intelligence (AI) will exhibit a mutually reinforcing symbiotic development trend. AI is recognized as a key technology to accelerate fusion R&D. To seize the opportunities brought by the rapid development of AI, strategically advance the field of AI for fusion, and ultimately accelerate the commercialization of ENN's hydrogen-boron spherical torus fusion, the ENN Energy Research Institute established the Fusion Intelligence Competency Group in July 2024, dedicated to the R&D and application of AI technologies for fusion.

What you'll do:

● Lead the overall research and follow-up of cutting-edge technologies in AI for fusion.

● Develop AI control, experimental analysis, and prediction technologies for spherical toruses.

● Plan and implement the application of AI technologies in fusion devices.

Who we’re looking for:

● Graduate-level education (M.S./Ph.D.) in AI, computational physics, control engineering, or a closely related field, with a strong publication record (e.g., conference papers, peer-reviewed journals) in AI-driven scientific research.

● Advanced proficiency in AI toolchains:

○ Deep learning frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow) for scientific modeling

○ Machine learning pipelines for experimental data analysis

○ Reinforcement learning algorithms for real-time control systems

● Domain-specific technical knowledge:

○ Fundamental understanding of fusion plasma dynamics (for fusion-focused candidates)

○ Familiarity with scientific computing workflows (for AI-focused candidates)
