As plasma performance increases in future devices, the risk of instabilities, especially disruptions, becomes critical. We are looking for a specialist to lead the modeling and mitigation strategy development for MHD instabilities in support of experimental operations and new device designs. "Conduct MHD stability analyses using multi-fluid or extended MHD models.
What you'll do:
● Participate in experiments (e.g., Xuanlong-50U), combining theoretical modeling and diagnostics.
● Provide MHD analysis for design and operation of the Helong-2 device.
● Develop and translate mitigation strategies into engineering solutions.
● Lead and support disruption mitigation experiments and risk assessment studies.
任职要求
Who we’re looking for:
● Ph.D. in Plasma Physics or related field with solid background in MHD theory and computation.
● Experience with numerical tools such as NIMROD, M3D-C1, or JOREK.
● Strong skills in scientific programming and numerical analysis.
● Hands-on experience with experimental devices is a strong advantage.
● Strong communication and leadership abilities; international experience is a plus.
