Global network Product Leader - Global Payment

About the team

We are hiring a Global Payment network Product Team Lead to own the build-out and optimization of our payments platform—covering acquiring/collections, payouts/disbursements, cash management & liquidity, and reconciliation, as well as the global payment network required to power these capabilities. You will establish a unified payment capability model and end-to-end product management, lead a cross-regional product team, and enable high-success, low-cost, and fully compliant funds movement for ByteDance’s global ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategy & Planning: Define a 3–5 year vision and annual roadmap for the global payment network (across availability, coverage, cost, user experience, and data visibility), with clear milestones and OKRs.

- Capability Expansion & Network Construction: Plan and launch global, mainstream payment methods and schemes (card networks, account-to-account rails, instant payment systems, cross-border clearing, and card issuing). Build the coverage matrix and prioritization, and develop a diversified, multi-country payment-method capability set to support the global scale of ByteDance businesses.

- Architecture & Platformization: Build a unified payment-method capability model and end-to-end acquiring/payment platform. Standardize platform abstractions, and establish platform-level reliability and experience safeguards to ensure robustness and stability of the payments system.

- Leadership & Collaboration: Define key metrics, build and lead a cross-regional PM team, and drive efficient delivery. Lead cross-functional PRD reviews and own quality from requirements through production launch.

- Innovation & Breakthroughs: Closely follow global payments trends and cutting-edge developments; identify breakthrough opportunities in technologies and business models in line with ByteDance’s business growth. Deliver innovative payment experiences and solutions for users and businesses.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or above; Prior experience leading a global payments product team is mandatory (people management and/or multi-product ownership).

- Industry understanding: Familiar with multi-country, multi-region payment methods and payment networks, including card schemes, bank/account transfer rails, instant payment systems, cross-border clearing, and issuing.

-Proven leadership of major partner integrations and collaborations. Hands-on experience with exploratory compliant new rails (e.g., next-gen cross-border clearing or compliant stablecoin settlement) is a strong plus.

- Platform infrastructure: Solid grasp of end-to-end payments architecture and core modules.

-Led design and delivery in acquiring & payouts, funds networks, settlement & reconciliation, and cash & liquidity management. Demonstrated ability to build a standard product model for platform products; data-driven with strong abstraction and systems thinking.
