Position Overview

We are seeking a highly visionary and experienced scientific leader to serve as the lead of Antibody Discovery. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for building, optimizing, and leading our state-of-the-art antibody discovery platforms and lead a high-performing scientific team to drive our innovative biologics discovery efforts. You will also be expected to spearhead project teams as a Project team Leader, moving pipeline projects to Pre-Clinical Candidate (PCC) selection and IND-enabling studies. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cutting-edge display and B-cell technologies, coupled with a proven track record of successful drug discovery and strategic team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Establishment & Optimization:

Design, build, and optimize robust, high-throughput antibody discovery platforms, with a primary focus on Phage Display, Yeast Display, and Single B-cell isolation technologies.

Continuously evaluate, integrate, and operationalize emerging discovery technologies (e.g., AI/ML-guided antibody design, immune repertoire sequencing) to enhance hit generation efficiency and developability.

Pipeline & Project Leadership:

Lead end-to-end antibody discovery campaigns across multiple therapeutic areas (e.g., oncology, immunology), driving programs from target validation and hit identification to lead optimization and humanization.

Successfully deliver high-quality therapeutic antibodies to Pre-Clinical Candidate (PCC) nomination and support the transition into IND-enabling studies.

Team Leadership & Management:

Recruit, build, mentor, and inspire a team of scientists and research scientists and associates.

Foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven scientific culture within the department.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner seamlessly with internal departments to ensure the developability and clinical viability of lead candidates.

Serve as a key member of the R&D leadership team, contributing to portfolio strategy, resource allocation, and timeline management.

External Partnerships & Intellectual Property:

Lead technical assessments for in-licensing opportunities and manage collaborations with CROs and academic partners.

Oversee the preparation of technical reports, regulatory documents (IND sections), and patent applications to build a robust intellectual property portfolio.

Required Qualifications

Education:

Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a closely related scientific discipline.

Experience:

Minimum of 7+ years of biopharmaceutical industry experience in antibody discovery and engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.

A strong, documented track record of successfully driving biologics projects from early discovery through PCC nomination and IND filing.

Technical Expertise:

Deep, hands-on understanding and strategic oversight of Phage Display, Yeast Display, and Single B-cell screening workflows.

Extensive knowledge of antibody screening, affinity maturation, cellular assays, and biophysical/functional characterization (SPR, BLI, FACS).

Leadership Skills:

Demonstrated ability to build platforms from the ground up, scale operations, and empower scientists to achieve aggressive project milestones.

Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; capable of presenting complex scientific data clearly to executive leadership, investors, and external stakeholders.
