Spacecraft Systems Engineer

The department of AI powered Spacecraft Lifecycle Laboratory (APSL²) is looking for a fulltime Spacecraft Systems Engineer for an international small satellite mission.

Language Requirements:  fluent in Chinese & English

Responsibilities & Tasks:

Technical Leadership & Coordination:

oAct as the central technical point of contact between subsystem teams, management, and international partner.

oChair technical meetings and design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.).

oMake critical trade-off decisions to resolve conflicts between subsystems (e.g., power vs. mass, cost vs. performance).

Requirements & Architecture:

oDefine and manage the top-level mission and system requirements and oversea the requirement breakdown.

oDevelop the system architecture, deciding how the bus, payload, and ground segment could fit together.

oCreate and maintain the technical budget tree (mass, power, data, link, thermal, etc.) with support of the engineering team.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s in Aerospace (preferably), Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics/Robotics, Information Technology.

Have experience in spacecraft design either as systems engineer or as subsystem engineer (e.g. requirements engineer, power, data handling, propulsion, etc.).

Soft Skills and Working Attitude

Strong interest in working in an international team within China and outside China.

Willing to make business trips outside China.

Strong interest to utilise novel digital engineering tools and methodologies.
