1. Direct supervision of qualified and trained personnel to perform sequencing test procedures in compliance with current standard operating procedures (SOP) and ISO standards.

2. Optimize test procedures by reviewing laboratory metrics to identify initiatives as well as establishing additional metrics such as cost savings that are associated with process improvement.

3. Work with commercial teams to define, develop and optimize lab product portfolio for short to long-term business growth; develop new assays or validate existing BGI assays to fulfill the above mission;

4. Lead the lab team to prepare for the ISO15189 accreditation application and annual auditing. Responsible for maintaining and improving quality systems according to ISO regulations.

5. Follow the latest clinical testing policies and technology trends and implement new technologies in the laboratory as needed.

6. Monthly and Quarterly report to Headquarters on laboratories. Timely and professionally deal with unexpected emergencies and report to headquarters in time.

7. Communicate with FAS, PM, and sales teams; working together to ensure the lab is running efficiently financially in order to maximize profitability.

8. Manage the laboratory’s team, including talent development and monitoring laboratory testing capabilities.

9. Overall coordination and management of BGI's delivery laboratories in the UK. Strengthening the laboratory teams through a mixture of inspiring leadership, practical skills training, and mentoring.

10. Work with local and headquarter management team to define laboratory strategy, roadmap, and requirements for genomic sequencing and testing business;

11. Standardize laboratory workflow and provide necessary guidance/training when needed.

12. Ensure lab compliance for local regulatory bodies.

任职要求

1. MD, Ph.D., or MD/Ph.D. degree required;

2. Two years of experience in managing IVD or NGS-related laboratory;

3. More than one year of work experience in ISO15189/CAP/CLIA lab;

4. Certification in Molecular Genetics/Pathology is preferred;

5. Demonstrate experience in genomic assay development in research or diagnostic fields is preferred but not required;

6. Proven knowledge of IVD, NGS, and genomics technologies, applications, and market trends;

7. Excellent planning and organizational skills and proven interpersonal skills;

8. Demonstrate ability to inspire effective collaboration and motivate staff;

9. Familiar with related local regulations/laws of medical laboratory operation.

10. Proficient in both English Speaking and writing.
